It was raining this morning so I decided to wait and do a noon to dark hunt now that the rain stopped. Crossed over the property line into the state forest a little ways hoping to catch a chase in the big open woods.

Had a little action this evening. About 20 minutes before last light, 2 small does came through just to my left. They were acting nervous or playing (i couldnt figure out which) so I kept an eye out in the direction they came from. About 10 minutes later a nice 8 pointer came in and put his nose to the ground where I had first seen them. He sniffed back and forth slowly working his way in the direction they had passed through. It was just a little too dim and the misty rain had my scope fogging up so no clean shot presented itself. A little action to make the rainy, cool sit worth it though.

I saw a total of 5 deer, all does, one was about 10yds away for a while. Chuck had 2 close to him, both does.

Lots of deer at Mandy Hollow but not close enough. But Robert got his first deer a doe at Bull Pen. Going again in the AM

Had 8 deer file into the field right at last light, but it was too dark for me to confidently take a shot. My buddy got this one about 45 minutes before dark.

Oh, and this fox was very curious. I saw him 4 different times over the span of about an hour and he kept getting closer and closer. Can't get much closer than this.

Wide variety of critters today. This is a bald eagle perched about 25 yards away.
