Finally got some cooler temps and a favorable wind for this rifle stand pretty close to home. I’m on this 350 ac. lease with a friend and his son. I hunt here very little but today is perfect. This plot failed because of no rain but I replanted with my Solo seeder right before one of the only rains we had in October. Just got in , so we’ll see what happens.
Well my much anticipated draw in hunt in the fort gibson waterfowl refuge came to an end at 6:30 am this morning when I shot this 9 point buck...
I stumbled around in the dark this morning and found a scrape and a persimmon grove so I threw my stand up in this small pecan tree...
And shot the deer with my muzzleloader at 20 yards right here...
I climbed back into the stand because I have other hunters all around me and I have heard 2 other shots within just the last few minutes. 1 to my right and the other to my left and both sounded close!

May I please have whatever you have. If you can find a way to package it and sell it I would buy it. Name it something like "Okie Mojo".....it would sell quick. Congratulations on an amazing deer. That happened to me one time in Kansas. I got turned around and lost going to my stand on the first day of a 8 day hunt. Waited until I could see. Shot a nice buck at 30 yards. Sat in camp the whole week bored

Currently in the stand for a 10a-dark sit in our creek bottom googling “why do bucks move midday” while experiencing no bucks moving midday.
Also eating apples because one of you told me it was ok and help scent control and wearing a new hat because my old one brought no luck, and contemplating peeing off the stand because my buddy just sent a video of a young buck licking the branch he just peed on.

I mentioned eating apples to help clean up bad breath, but evidently didn't work. On stand in deep woods on north 1/3 of the hollow. Pushed a single deer out on my entrance 1 hour before shooting light. Calm winds, frosty and 31 degrees. Turkeys gobbling on our new 10 and neighbor kids waiting on the school bus are hollering their heads off...
