I like the way you scout Rusty ! Between finishing up food plots and building a shop pad for a friend I have had my fill of high humidity and 90s temps. I had so much sweat run into my eyes last Friday, along with the dust, that they felt swollen all night. The weatherman promises good things in the next day or two though, my food plots are in, and I'm gonna be.....LIVE IN THE STAND !

Hands down the most fun I had in a stand without killing a deer. Had a group of turkeys feed through early on. This young man wants to kill a turkey something bad. I've been telling him about the turkeys so he got fired up seeing them. Had a doe and a pair of fawns come out and kept up entertained until the rest of the herd showed up. Ended up counting 15 deer all within 40 yards. With that many eyes and noses it made it tough to move. Every little sound made them jump. Doe were pushing bucks. Doe were pushing doe. Fawns were playing. Finally a 3 year old 8pt walked up in the middle of everything at last light. He drew back but couldn't find his pin. Proud of him for not taking a bad shot. We'll be back

High on the mountain right now...quite a hike. Saw several sets of eyes walking up. Still very dark but I am starting to be able to make out individual trees...just glad to be here...
 
Going to predict some big boys hit the ground this weekend. Falling temps, rising pressure conditions should be great for the NE. Best of luck to everyone.

Climbed in a little late. But in the stand none the less. Guess the neighbors are hanging stands this evening. They're about 100 yards away. Great evening though even with the noise

I ended up getting one of the turkeys with my crossbow...

The evening hunt was insane on my south plot.

I passed 3 8's, a 9, and a 10 trying to get a shot at a giant 6 pointer (bigger than I have ever seen or had on camera) in our plot. At 1 time I had 17 deer in front of me and under me...put my phone up when big deer started showing up...a dog ended up clearing the field before the big 6 got lined up...
 
Good morning. Wife and oldest daughter came up with me. I have them in a two man tripod. Hoping they see something. Actually needed a jacket this morning.

No bucks showed up so I decided to fill a doe tag. The wife and daughter had a flock of turkeys feeding in front of them for an hour but no deer.

Was sitting about 30 yards inside the woods near our south plot watching a doe and fawn eat clover when I heard something running up quickly from behind me. I got ready as a big doe blazed past with this coyote in tow...sent an arrow after her and it caught her...I see coyotes chasing deer on our place a lot...

Live from NOT a deer stand!!

Somehow I let my wife convince me that we needed to spend 7 days and thousands of dollars at Disney with the 3 kids and the in-laws. I am so far out of my element. People talking different languages. French dudes kissing and getting mad when I ask them to knock that crap off in front of my kids. "It's a small world after all". At least that what I thought I had in my own little slice of heaven I call home. This Mississippi boy isn't made for this kind of fun.

Don't know how to respond to that.....so I guess I won't. Y'all keep the hunting posts coming so I can live vicariously through everyone the rest of this week and I'll stop the offensive Disney posts
