August rifle in SC? and I thought bowhunting in Florida in October was awful. That's dedication right there. What's the reason for such an early rifle hunt? When is your rut?

Some areas in Florida have July seasons for their rut, but we have some weird ass deer down here.

I squirrel hunted yesterday and nearly had a heat stroke. NOTHING moved until nearly dark. Can't imagine deer hunting. Sucker would rot before it quit running. LOL

Temp has dropped to 78 after a good rain and the eclipse. Today is my last opportunity to hunt until the weekend so I figured I better make the most of it. I've got a good feeling about this evening...
