Also, food plot is getting visited already. We had a little rain on Tue and Wed so the buckwheat should be popping up soon. Oh, and they all seem to be heading toward my hinge cuts so they seem to be working as intended!
This mama had twins with her. See if you can spot them both...
This lone fawn came strolling through...
And I'm not sure if this was just something funky where the camera caught this turkey moving or if it's actually got a deformity around its beak?

Noticed this shrub that is growing right outside the front porch has some nice flower blooms on it now. Wasnt sure what it was but I believe it's a Rose of Sharon (hibiscus syriacus). It has nothing to do with habitat but it's kind of cool to have around.

Yeah lak, I really hate to paint!! My wife usually does most of our painting but her and my daughter already had plans with friends today, plus she can't do ceilings (with the constant looking up) so I was on my own today.

Thanks for the confirmation cutman! I took a page from catscratch's book and threw down some store bought beans to mix in with the buckwheat. I know the deer will demolish them in such a small plot but at this point, i just want them to get used to coming into the area. Hopefully it will be part of their routine for when I get a fall plot established.

Nice place Pinetag! You have been really busy. I love your bridge, just sucks the water displaced it. I have a large stream on my place that keeps me from being able to get equipment to about 5 acres that I have and man is that frustrating. Looks like your putting some elbow grease into the cottage as well....running water will be a great asset. Your openings and hinge cut efforts will help put sunlight on the ground and that is key for mother nature to do her thing with growth as well as keeping the hinged trees alive. Sometimes just dropping a large tree or two in an area that are of low value can be all it takes to see an explosion of growth.

Thanks j-bird! So much to do, so little time.
Having water is definitely a huge asset! I was able to wash out the paint brushes from over the weekend as well as provide a little water to the fruit trees. You certainly realize how much we take just turning on that faucet for granted until you go somewhere and can't do it!
I hope I let in enough sunlight for the hinged areas to thicken up real good over the summer. I am going to stay away from them until after the season and then I can check/re-evaluate for next year. It will certainly provide better winter cover than what is currently there.
