I had an actual coyote that was barking and howling not 60 yards from the deer just before dark. He was closer to them than I was and they paid him no mind...
That's a heck of a temp swing. It should get them movingNothing moving yet...80’s yesterday at this time, 30’s today...
I didn't witness it, but he may have visited the still before going hunting....
Yikes. Okie. You need Eli there to help?Yesterday evening wasn’t great...I did end up seeing a buck but it was last light and he was moving though a thicket in my right. When I was getting ready to get down I thought I had my bow firmly attached to my haul string but apparently I didn’t because it came off and fell hard into the rocks and cracked a limb. Luckily it is now muzzleloader season but haven’t seen anything this morning yet...
There’s nothing like hunting with kids, even teenagers. I’ve shot a number of deer and antelope because the kids wanted to be there when it happened. No regrets at all!I'm regretting letting that buck go this morning! She was like "you should shoot it" and I told her I was going to let him walk, but then I saw how excited she was and it was too late. That won't happen again! Nothing is off limits the next time she comes with me. She did have a good time though and it was the closest she's ever been to one. 5 steps and he never spooked. Unfortunately the second buck never gave me a good opportunity.
