The lower 20 already has a decent amount of cover as its very swampy so there is not a whole lot I need to do down there. Lots of forbes, shrubs, and green growth.
On a bad note, I got a trespasser on camera but fortunately nothing was stolen. I think the motion sensor light spooked them. They drove right around the gate as I could see the tire indentions, but I will be fixing that soon. My neighbor said this looks like the same car that someone else got a picture of and they actually had stuff stolen. The police are keeping an eye on him so hopefully it won't be a problem again.
Just placed an Amazon order for some needed items using points I acquired through work. A couple stands, a hand spreader, a gambrel and hoist, and some swamp milkweed seeds.
I was only able to get out for a brief while this morning but I got some hinge cut pockets done and I raked a few areas that I plan to spray in April and then seed with Japanese millet in May. Things are starting to green up nicely too. These are two of the crabapples I planted last weekend...
A forestry buddy confirmed this is a persimmon so I'm looking forward to seeing what it might do this fall. I'm gonna head out in the morning to check on a few things and put up an "extension" section of fence by the gate to prevent anyone from being able to drive around it again.
Went out this morning after the rain stopped for a little while. I put up a makeshift extension fence at the front gate to prevent someone from driving around it again. I didn't have the saw so I'll just have to cut off the excess next time.
Took a walk to check on the food plots and see what sort of growth I have going on during spring green up. The clover is coming in on the new food plot which I think I'm gonna call the north plot...
The new chestnut and crabapple seedlings are leafing out but the persimmons haven't done anything yet. Maybe they are late bloomers? First pic is chestnut and second is crabapple...
