"Whitetail Hollow" - 90 Acres NE Oklahoma.

Kubota, I at one time thought it would be cool to make a trip down there and see your place, then have you come up to see mine. Kind of swap a land tour thing. I'm not so sure now. I don't think I want you anywhere near my place, I'm afraid your drought curse may rub off onto my place!
Just joking about you being cursed, I hope a couple of those storms pop up on your place.

Whitetail Hollow is fairly dull - lots of woods and a couple small plots but lots of terrain. Home 10 is a little more interesting due to all the tree plantings and such but you are welcome any time...

More storms popped up just about a mile west of us and headed NW again today. Tulsa gets rain daily I guess...

Finally took a pic of the building we moved last Saturday. It's great getting this up here since outdoor storage is at a premium up here!

I may have made a mistake this evening...I got tired of seeing our north plot being overrun with grass even though I have sprayed it twice with clethodim in the past 1 1/2 month so I took the sprayer over with Gly in the tank and nuked it hoping to totally replant it in rye grain, radishes, and red clover. I then came home and viewed the plotwatcher video and realized a lot of deer have been using it daily...

Houston, I think we have a Raccoon problem!

This is the reason I let the feeders run out and have taken one of them down now. Tired of feeding raccoons only!

Hilarious Okie. Don't the deer know how hard we work to give them a plot of perfection? Did the coons tear down your feeder I guess? I quit feeders long ago due to them but mainly just a welfare bear attraction. No longer even use corn for camera survey. Great bucks coming along as usual. I almost hit a bachelor group of three as I pulled down from my house this morn.

You need to herd a couple of those bucks down to Lincoln County!!!

If I did that I would only have 3 left that use our place. Lots more does use it now though so I am hoping that will be a big draw of "stranger" bucks. There are a couple I certainly hope show back up that have been here the past 2 falls...

I took the feeder down and packed it out. It had been out of corn for about 2 weeks already and I started putting rice bran in that spot and finally deer started showing up. The camera dates were off by a month on that feeder and laid back 9 has a bone point sticking out of the velvet per those pics so I figure he will be shed off by next weekend. I noticed a few green acorns had been blown out of the trees and had been gobbled up so once acorn drop hits here in the next month corn is of absolutely no use anyway...

Nice herd you have there, deer and raccoons. I have a bunch of raccoons here at home and at farm but have never seen that many at one time.

I've never seen rice brand for sale locally. Of course I may just need to ask, do you find it at the local co-op?
I don't put out corn much anymore, just occasionally to get an inventory or to modify a travel route.
You do have a lot of coons. Those dogproof traps work really well. We had a huge increase in quail populations after a yr of trapping the things.

When I was much younger a really big coon pelt could bring as much as $75 and I sold a many for $50! Back then coons and most any fur bearing animals were much tougher to come by because lots of trapping and hunting with dogs was going on. We also had lots of wild quail. Now we have no quail left at all and we have "HERDS/PACKS/GAGGLES" of raccoons and other fur bearing vermin everywhere since their hides have no value :(

They sell it at Tractor Supply, Atwoods, and the Coop here. It works great if you are like us and have way too many crows, coons, and turkeys. It will attract Hogs, Deer, and for some reason Possums...Turkeys will scratch around in it some...

I have 3 dogproofs and 2 live traps but we are not in season for that stuff yet so I have to wait until winter to trap...I hope to trap a lot more this winter...

I feel for you not getting any rain, after planting your plots. My problem is I can't finish working my ground to plant because it's too wet! I got another 2 inches the past 3 days at my farm! Really odd because you guys usually get more rain than us out west. Hopefully you'll get some the next few days!

Our best shot at rain for the next several days is today...I am watching the weather map and the rain is traveling a more normal direction today moving from NW to SE but it looks like it is going to be too far North of us to do any good. It looks like Missouri is getting a bunch of rain today so Brushpile should be happy but it has rained a few times there since it has here...
