Live from the stand 2016!

11:42 am yesterday morning. I pulled this card on way up the mountain this morning. Scrape is one I made and wizzed in starting 2 weeks ago...

It's been hunted twice, both hunts with my grandson

If you have a stand in the woods around the oaks and say from the fields you might put a trail cam in there on a scrape and see what you get...

Misshap...

On the way in early this morning I have to cross a very rocky creek. I step across a couple really large rocks to do so and when I was doing this with my rifle slung on my shoulder the top sling mount pulled out of the wood and the rifle rotated off my shoulder and even though I still had gold of the butt it smashed into the rock with my front sight and vibrated the gun so much it actually opened the action and caused 209 primer to fly off into the darkness.

I need to shoot it when I get back to camp to see if it knocked the scope out of whack...

That happened to me once with my rifle. Fortunately the scope was still on.

Dang Johnny. Looks like you need to a new gun or at least a new stock. Don't think I'd be shooting that gun.
Sorry

I'm on edge of where planted pines meet hardwoods with a hinged cut trail from here to soybean field. Couple of scrapes on the trail. Very windy tho!
Still bow season for us.

It may be my night shift brain, but I couldn't stop laughing when I read that. Wish I could be out there too, but I've got three more nights at least. Next week is our last chance to bow hunt before the early doe season too.
They kept stomping the ground next to it but just kept eating. Eating and stomping at the same time.

That stinks, may shoot ok though. I cracked the stock on an old cva and it still shot ok.

Just can't do it...all I could see was an ER visit right here during muzzleloader season :(

Back on stand. I am in the stand on the point above the big hollow 3/4 way up the mountain. Saw a bruiser here last Friday evening. See what else may be around. 70's with a stiff south breeze...
