Had our first rain of the year. An 1.25" that came fast. After a dry winter with no beneficial snow the rain was welcome. PTL

No, that is nearly 4 hours West of me, but I am familiar with the country. I used to work some in that area.
Drought is the worst, but the land is resilient. Are your water holes filling back up yet? Full water holes are a beautiful sight.

Still have a ways to go with 4 of the bigger ponds of my in-laws. Got slammed with hail late last night, not sure about the roof yet. Didn’t get a tornado though, so that’s good.

I wish I could sell some rain, I’d be a millionaire ! Every creek and river in East Texas is flooded, every lake is higher than high, and if you are in the woods with a truck, you better stay on the hard packed roads. It’s getting out of hand. I have to wait 3/4 days to even mow my yard and it’s about three days past due. But…..I ain’t bitching, because it’s liable to cut off as quickly as it turned on.

I haven't looked at it lately. W KS is still on it for sure. Our soil moisture is great now, some of the bigger ponds could still use some runoff, but lakes and rivers are looking good.

It’s about time for our tap to be turned off. That’s about par for the course here. We had a chance of rain today and it didn’t happen. Chance again tomorrow but I’m betting against it. I’ll be running sprinklers in the yard by next week I’m sure.
Can’t worry about that now though, my wife fell this morning and broke her femur, so tomorrow she’ll get a full hip replacement. Ain’t gonna be much fun around our house for the next couple months. The worst thing is, she just got out of school for the summer and her summer vacation is shot. Well, I guess the worst thing is the pain, but she had several things planned before she went back to work and that just went up in smoke.

That stinks, those gals are tough though. My wife’s pain tolerance triples mine I’m sure, and that’s being pretty conservative.

It's been extremely dry here in N. Central Florida. We finally started getting rain this weekend. Hopefully it continues as even the creek is bone dry.
Sorry to read about your wife Drycreek. Wishing her a quick recovery. I messed up my ankle pretty good a few years ago and one thing that ended up helping me with swelling afterwards was CBD. I was kind of hardheaded on trying it, but the orthopedic surgeon's office had advertisements for it. I was surprised how quickly it helped with swelling , which ended up reducing pain. Maybe your ortho's office has adds on as well since it seems everyone is trying to get in on it , lol.
