"Whitetail Hollow" - 90 Acres NE Oklahoma.

Been there and know how it is. Fight to keep trees alive, and rain will surely come. There's been rain everywhere but your home 10.

It's odd how the weather patterns changed here in Oklahoma. Out west we are usually really dry this time of year, and the eastern part is usually wet. I'm usually in your situation, plant plots than no rain. This year I've had a lot of rain since I planted! Hope it turns around soon for you!

We ended up getting 2/10's" at home 10 this morning. That makes almost 4/10's" in the past month...trees are taking it real hard!

I have noticed the same thing...dry areas becoming wetter and wetter areas becoming real dry...

Our next shot at rain is next weekend.

I am behind on my update but I think you have a little more now. Congrats!

I did--not going to complain because I needed any moisture I could get but a little more would have been nice. But I am counting my blessings. Total for the last 5 days was 0.93 but I went out this morning in search of the elusive hog and it was pretty muddy.

Been a busy weekend trying to get the last few Brushhog jobs done before I quit for the year. I believe I only have 1 small job left and then I need to Brushhog our deer lease roads and then the Brushhog will be put away for the fall.

Saturday before I got started I ran across the road to see how the plots were doing. I planted them 2 weeks ago and it didn't rain until 1 week ago and when I checked 1 week ago absolutely nothing was growing... I was pleasantly surprised when I looked at the Saturday!

Damned armadillos are really digging the new growth up...in pretty big areas!

I had to put some steps in a tree for a hang on stand I have and when I got done doing that I walked over to a hinge cut area I cut 2 years ago. Really thick but I see no sign deer use it...

Hey, hey, hey. Glad to see that green "tint" across those plots. Maybe some more rain soon and they can take off.

Last nights storm came across the state but it missed both our properties. This morning I awoke to thunder but it did not rain here. I walked outside to see where the storm was and almost stepped on this guy in our driveway... Copperheads are really active this time of year.

There was a huge cell to our south and our home 10 was right on the edge and ended up getting 2/10's of an inch of rain. That makes right at about 4/10's of an inch In 1 month...for an area as dry as home 10 that doesn't do much...

My wife was at home 10 yesterday and took these photos of our plots that have been in since August 21st...

Pretty sad since we haven't had enough rain over the past month to germinate and keep plantings alive...

Most of the green you see is Bermuda grass trying to come back...

I couldn't believe it was that bad so I drove over before I started work today...it is :(

Only good thing is I saw 17 deer when I drove in but most ran off before I got my phone out...

Here on the hollow I have high hopes for our plots!

All along our east border are 10 acre hunting parcels that were sold off by a guy breaking up a 160. 1 brother and his sister have 7 of these 10 acre parcels and they have about 5 guys hunting. They have a camper set up about 100 yards from our gate and they rolled in Thursday and left today. They took a walk behind garden tiller to an opening in their woods and I heard them tilling rock. I guess they are going to try a food plot to go along with all the feeders they run...
