"Whitetail Hollow" - 90 Acres NE Oklahoma.

Wow and i was worried about us having a drought here in PA. I am so sorry to see that at your place. We are so vulnerable to mother nature and we have to just roll with the punches she gives us! I hope and Pray it gets better there for you!! Bring on the rain Please!!!
Thank you Dennis. It has been a weird summer with lots of rain near but none actually materializing on the property...

It's been like that here too. We've just been lucky and have stood in the path of a lot of summer storms. I wish you luck and a good soaker. The pics of you larger trees turning brown just sucks!

That real light green isn't much rain anyway, you need a downpour! It looks like you have some chances this week, are going to water your pears?

I will try to water them tomorrow after work. I took all my hose to our new house so I have to carry buckets around. I watered the really bad looking pin oak this afternoon...

Those trees made it through the other droughts we had in years past but didn't brown down like this year... SW of Tahlequah has been hardest hit. Tahlequah and points south and east have had lots of good rain with most cells popping up either right on Tahlequah or just east or south. West of town has had a few showers and north where I am has had a decent rain the past 2 Saturday's but been very hot and dry otherwise...

Well the light green that showed across that area dropped no measurable rainfall and only put little craters in the dust :(
Another chance this afternoon - keeping fingers crossed...

We got a few drops at the house but not much. Bermuda is still green and nearly indestructible.

This weekend looks alot better for rain chances...

You see that spot right between Muskogee and Tahlequah... That is where the desert of Oklahoma is...

It looks like we got some much needed moisture...

This is what all 3 hunting properties got yesterday and we have more chances Friday and Saturday.

Home 10 with 1.8" is a start but it was so very dry there it is going to take much more to turn it around...

Thanks Stickbow errr Weasel ;)

Getting that last hog became a mission because I run 3 feeders, 3 mineral, and 1 rice bran station along with 2 plots and 2 waterholes and pun intended that boar was "hogging" every bit of it up. He made his rounds cleaning up everything and I was noticing a lot more hog pictures and a lot less deer pictures...

This property is being managed for deer with turkeys being secondary. No room for hogs in my management plan!

As far as the pictures, those are pictures from my last 2 cell phones so anything before that is not in there. We have a bunch of pics but they are on paper and don't have our scanner up and running yet.

Rain is a gift from God!

Drought of 2011/2012 residuals... These White Oaks had top kill from the many, many 100+ degree days and no rain...

The 2012 drought was the worst of it, but the drought is far from over. I was at Stockton Lake yesterday and it looked to be down about 6-8 feet. This year has been terrible, but not as terrible as 2012.

My grassy and weedy clover plot...

Sprayed clethodim for the second time on this plot last Sunday. The first time I sprayed clethodim was 3 weeks ago and we were terribly dry. Most everything was in dormancy. We have had 3 rains over 1" since that time and the grass started growing in earnest again. I spayed 15 gallons of water and 30 ounces of clethodim with 10 ounces of surfactant.

I am probably going to disk this clover field under in a couple weeks and put down Daikon radishes, winter rye, wheat, and medium red clover.

Not much habitat work this weekend...my last picture was us awaiting the beginning of the movie "Suicide Squad" which the wife and I liked immensely.

Saturday morning I changed the water pump out on the 69 GTO and the wife and I hit Jay Cruise Night in Jay Oklahoma. We had an awesome time!

This morning we had a birthday party for our nieces son who turned 2 and we took our grandsons with us. On the way back we stopped at Dick's Sporting Goods and got a couple things...

After we got home I went to check on the hog I killed last Saturday...coyotes made short work of him with only bones left...

Weather was great this weekend even though we got no rain...only a little over 80 for a high today and was low 70's this evening...

Hopefully get some plots in shape by next weekend in preparation for planting.
