And I thought it had been dry here.......nothing like what you endured. Glad you're finally getting some moisture!

I have seen deer reduced to nothing but bones like my hog was reduced to in just 1 night. I know a lot of guys don't think they eat the hide off the heads and legs and such but they eat it all and they eat it quick!Coyotes make short work of wounded deer. I've deer a deer reduced to bones overnight!
Hope rain steps up to the plate for you Okie. That was some porker bet the yotes enjoyed the snack.
Not much habitat work this weekend...my last picture was us awaiting the beginning of the movie "Suicide Squad" which the wife and I liked immensely.
Saturday morning I changed the water pump out on the 69 GTO and the wife and I hit Jay Cruise Night in Jay Oklahoma. We had an awesome time!
This morning we had a birthday party for our nieces son who turned 2 and we took our grandsons with us. On the way back we stopped at Dick's Sporting Goods and got a couple things...
After we got home I went to check on the hog I killed last Saturday...coyotes made short work of him with only bones left...
Weather was great this weekend even though we got no rain...only a little over 80 for a high today and was low 70's this evening...
Hopefully get some plots in shape by next weekend in preparation for planting.

That's exactly why I bought a tracking dog! This doe was shot in the evening and went onto adjoining land. We didn't have permission to look so we stuck around until around 10:00pm looking where we had permission (we didn't really know where she went, so we kept at it until ever inch was covered that we could). This is what we found at first light the next day. Yotes couldn't have had more than 6-8hrs with her. This is pretty much what we expect every time a deer isn't found before dark.
That's the norm here too... I stepped out a little after dusk yesterday evening to put the new camera out in our back yard to test it and the coyotes sounded like they were within 50 yards of me yipping...neat but eerie at the same time...This doe was shot in the evening and went onto adjoining land. I have looked at the 888I and am thinking about that one too. I have had great luck with Moultrie cameras. I Have to make a bass pro run this weekend for boots and I am going to see what they have available in cameras...I almost bought the same camera the other day. I thought I'd try the Moultrie so I bought the 888I. So far I'm happy with it. I've been using the Primos ultra blackout the last few years. The last one I bought I've had a lot of trouble with. Primos replaced it with a new camera a few months ago, now I'm having problems with the new replacement camera. It takes hundreds of pics of nothing, continuous false triggers but only during the daytime! I worked my other plot yesterday. It'll be time to plant before you know it! Cooler weather is nice, needing rain though. Hadn't had a good rain in a while, starting to get dry! A man has to stop and watch a movie once in a while!

Tracking dogs not allowed in Oklahoma...That's exactly why I bought a tracking dog!
