The deer have been moving like crazy with this cold snap...I saw 2 small bucks when I went across the road but missed most of them by a few minutes...

I took down my 4 port feed bank feeder and put a spin feeder there last weekend because withe the shutdown I wanted to cut my corn bill down...

Every buck is still coming to it and all still have both sides other than the 3 that had already shed...

Im with you on the Keto. Except I'm allergic to wheat, and I got the red meat allergy from a lonestar tick bite in 2017. If our woods have them, so do yours.

Wheat isn’t on my diet...I had Rocky Mountain spotted fever when I was 13...didn’t sweat for more than 20 years after that...still eat meat like a tiger!

I pull mine around 195, wrap it in foil and a towel, then throw in a cooler for an hour to finish.

I won’t put one near a perimeter...I also won’t put one past halfway back into the property (back 50). I place them to pull the deer to the same 40 my house sits on...keeps them on our place longer and I can sneak around them along the fence and get into a stand in the back that will have them funneling past me headed to bed...

Appraisal went well, title work came back clean. We should be able to close mid-late next week so the farm is saved!

Thanks catscratch...we have a freezer full of deer meat and my wife had stocked our cabinets well throughout the years so we should be fine. We started the KETO diet on the 2nd and if anything it is not cheap...still looking for KETO friendly ground deer recipes lol...

Just grind some bacon in that deer meet. Keto friendly and tasty.

I smoked pork shoulders almost every weekend at the lake last summer. I have an electric smoker so it makes things a little easier. I wrapped after it got to 160 degrees and let it get to 203 before I took it off. 9ish pounders usually took around 14 hours.

Found 2 from the tractor seat this morning...this one from “Big 8”...

You can literally see him lose it in these next photos...this photo below does not show it on the ground.

Then just a couple minutes later there it is just left of the wooden post and just under the neck of the other 1 antlered buck “Ten”...it is not an antler from that buck...

Yes they do...haven’t even really started looking yet...hope to find a few more this weekend.
