Which cameras do you like?

I'm thinking about buying a couple cameras. I was using Bushnells but I don't think they were always taking pictures if something was in front of them. Which cameras would you recommend that takes pictures every time something goes past it? I'm looking at $150.00 - $200.00 range.

Covert mp8, Brownings, Exodous. I’m done with Bushnell (tired of 18 month lifespans and run on photos).
 
I run a half dozen Browning Strike Force, and a half dozen Bushnell HD's.
My nod goes to the Brownings primarily because of the lower cost and ease of use. Only needing 6 batteries per camera is nice to when you have that many cameras to feed.

I did pick up a couple of refurbished Stealth Cams this spring for a song and a dance that I'll be putting into my arsenal this fall.
 
Like Elkaddict, I'm done with Bushnells, although I have a couple that are hanging on after 2 years. My most reliable in the field right now are the Browning micros. Haven't had one fail yet after a couple of seasons, but a couple of them show 85% battery even with new batteries and they won't accept the Browning labeled SD cards that come with the cams....and they don't like RayoVac batteries either!
 
If you want a camera that takes a picture every time, get a Moultrie A Series. There is no sensitivity setting. Mine takes a picture every time a mouse farts... I hate it!

I can't help you, because I quit buying cheap cameras and know nothing about any of them anymore.

Yet, I do understand the allure of buying a cheap camera, because I have done it. But time has taught me that cheap isn't always cheap in the long run.

Every cheap camera I have ever bought is now in a junk pile in the basement. However, every Reconyx I have ever bought is still working just fine. This includes the two bought back in 2011. One of those went in for repair one time, which was easy and fast. They fixed it quickly and I had it back out in no time.

Or as Shakespeare would have said,
To buy, or not to buy: that is the question:
Whether ’tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of a cheap camera,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
And by opposing end them? To die: to sleep;
No more; and, by a sleep to say we end
The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks....
 
Brownings -we are up to 5 of them now -
Strike force HD I think they are - 6 batteries same as someone said - last a real long time - and pics are very good especially day pics and videos. mostly easy to use - three years on the first two - used probably 9 months of the year.
 
I tried an exodus and they took decent pics but mine quit already and I emailed to company as you can't call anyone and have done twice more in last week with no response so I will try to find another number tomorrow.moultries have lasted the longest for me,I have a couple brownings that need to go in trash instead of feeding them batteries and hoping for a picture

Dang Nativ, I wasn't aware that ole Bill used them cameras. Learn sumpin new ever day.........

I counted my cameras two days ago and was surprised to see I had 15, all Bushnells except for one Browning. Twelve of them are on trees right now on four different places.

I've had very good luck with Bushnell, some of them lasted 6/7 years before they went haywire. I've always sent them back in, whether under warranty or not, and they always offer a new model at a pretty decent discount. I lost one once, it stayed on a tree for two years before I found it, and after I cleaned it up, it worked ! The strap was almost rotten from the elements, the batteries starting to corrode, but it still worked.

I agree they don't always take every picture they should though, because I've seen deer in front of them that I never got a picture of. I've had Moultries, Primos, and Stealthcam too, and so far nothing beats the Bushnells for me.
 
Browning - without a doubt. I run about 20 cams. Bushnell do ok - for 18/24 months. I have run everything from tasco to reconyx. Never had a browning quit that didnt get flooded. Strikeforce model pricing at about $150. I would rather run a lot of $150 cameras than 1/3 as many high dollar cameras. I do have one spartan texting camera that has been flawless.

Yes, the part quoted above is the part that I dislike and what drove me away from them. It's almost as bad as having a gun that doesn't shoot when you pull the trigger or a car that doesn't start when you turn the key.

So to them I said, "Good night, good night! Parting is such sweet sorrow.........."

Im very happy with my Brownings. Ive had many different brands and doubt Ill stray away from the Brownings anytime soon.

I believe trailcampro.com has a 90 day no questions asked return policy. Ive never used them before, heard it on a podcast. Buy a Browning and check it out. If you don't like it get your money back.
 
Browning Strike Force, or Reconyx. For the money, Browning all day long. If you can still find the 2016 Browning BTC 5HDE, buy all you can!

I think I have about 12-15. I have never owned a better camera. I have a buddy with a Reconyx 600 and the BTC 5HDEs. He has about 15 of the Brownings too, he says they are better cameras than the Reconyx in every regard except pic quality.
 
You guys jinxed me ! I ran cameras here at home yesterday and two older (May 2015) Bushnells were jacked up ! One had zero pics and the other had 3,874 ! Very few deer pics on the one that had so many, it was just taking pics of nothing.

I have one Browning that I bought used and it's still going after three years so I think I'm gonna take y'all's advice and rotate Brownings in as the others quit. My momma didn't raise no fools, she just dressed us funny......

I guess if they made trail cameras to last 10 years they wouldn’t be in business very long. I like my Browning’s but I wish I could find some more Moultrie M80 XT those were the best cameras I every had.
