Well...
We sat till dark and no other deer came in other than the doe with triplets. At one time we had 12 deer around us and Eli tried a shot at a doe with a wounded rear leg. The deer kept milling in and out of each other around the feeder and to get a shot without another deer in front of or behind the target deer took some time. The doe got all the way as far as we could see her on our left but was still within 30 yards and Eli was as pivoted as he could get when his little gun barked. Deer were running every direction and I couldn't tell if she was hit. We got down and looked everywhere for blood, hair, etc...the deer were in the woods and we could see them running around while we were looking and they finally all ran east blowing as they went. All we could come up with was I am pretty sure he missed...he took it well though and was a trooper as we climbed back aboard he stand. He is really pumped about going again during our general firearms season the week of Thanksgiving since his tags are still good then
