Drought and Survival

Grabbed another inch of rain out west today. More in forecast for Saturday. Anxious to see if the cereal rye and brassicas respond. Hope it is more widespread for you guys next time. Average rain in Hays, KS is 24" a year so roles for sure reversed this year.
 
Looks like we have a little more than 24 hours of this deluge chance, so hopefully we can add to our grand total of a tenth. No rain overnight and the skies are clearing.
 
Kurt, you might be on to something, I see on radar that western Kansas is getting dumped on again! You’ll have oak ridges in no time and we’ll have short grass prairie. :rolleyes::D
 
Last night and this morning we got 2.25“ here at home and a quarter inch at the lease. Guess it’s time to get some seed in the ground !

Looks like a good sized rain system heading into SE KS?
 
We are still at about 3/10” for 4 days of good solid rain chances...stays just to our west or just to our east...
 
We didn't get as much as originally planned and the chances for today and tomorrow fizzled out. However, it sounds like we may have received up to 3" during the week. I'm ecstatic if thats the case.

All told, I think we ended up with about the same Okie. Back to watching the forecast and praying for rain; well, I guess we never stopped praying for rain.
 
Heard from my buddy who lives close to the Massey, we got a little less than I thought unfortunately, about 3/10s.
 
Looks like quite a rain might be headed our way this evening, could bring some fireworks with it. We’ll see…
 
Just beginning to sprinkle here at the homestead. Could get a pretty good soaker tonight.
 
Just heard from my buddy who lives close to the Massey, he said it has been raining nice for a little over an hour, and he also said it then cut loose and started pouring about 15 minutes ago. It’s raining nice here at the house too. Hallelujah!!
