Politics...I know, but what do they get paid for? I've wondered this for years... What other profession, besides baseball just expects you to fail miserably most of the time?

Just weary of this drought...trying to Brushhog dead grass since too much dust to run the dozer and now have to be super careful to not start a fire with flint and steel...and the dust...
They have been bouncing back and forth between chances almost daily. It has quite a few farmers drilling wheat this week.I’ve been seeing several places next to the highways that burnt due to someone flicking a cigarette out the window lately. This drought doesn’t help with stockpiling fall pastures either.
Forecast shows the rain back in for Wednesday here, up to 60% again. Did anyone else see rain back in their forecast for next week?
Wednesday is showing 40% rain for day and 60% showers for night...then no rain. I have zero pasture left where my cattle are and going to start supplementing with liquid feed tomorrow. Got a guy bringing a feeder and a ton of feed. Hopefully it makes hay last longer. Dozer gonna be hurting after this winter because I am gonna make more pasture and water everywhere!!!I’ve been seeing several places next to the highways that burnt due to someone flicking a cigarette out the window lately. I have a buddy who’s been doing the same thing for a couple months now. He’s mostly cutting down hedge for firewood a year from now. He said the cows come running when he fires up his saw.I may have already stated this but Dgallow was hinge cutting his non desirable trees so the cattle could eat the leaves to help feed them this summer because of the drought.
It’s pouring in Kansas!!!!!

This is nearly 20 minutes after the cloudburst began…
Gotta take the small victories at this point. If that 1/2" knocks the dust down for at least half a day I'd prefer that to nothing.Got .3” at the Massey and .5” here at the house. Nothing else in long term forecast. Doing T&M next week regardless. Can you get crop insurance on plots??
It missed us completely...Got .3” at the Massey and .5” here at the house. Nothing else in long term forecast. Doing T&M next week regardless. Can you get crop insurance on plots??
Where are those hurricanes Texas is known for??? We could sure use one coming up the middle of this desert called the lower midwest this year!We planted 5 plots yesterday and 4 this morning, and all of them looked like the Gobi Desert. We have 30% for tomorrow night and the same for two days this weekend. I’m giving odds boys, put yer money down !View attachment 24537
Not enough rain in Springfield to cover the deck. Nice thought though! We're not as dry as you but pretty dusty still.Looking like the rain is going to stay south and east of us AGAIN tomorrow. Maybe you’ll get some again Okie. Freaking, lucky punks in Springfield, MO gonna get good rain once again.
My brother-in-law lives in Bolivar. It was tough all summer listening to his reports of rain after rain after rain, etc…Not enough rain in Springfield to cover the deck. Nice thought though! We're not as dry as you but pretty dusty still.
