I can’t hardly wait to come out of this like you have the 3 weeks or so Okie! One thing about this drought I hadn’t considered fully. I was actually happy I hadn’t had to mow much this summer. Talked to an acquaintance this morning that mows 2 cemeteries; he depends on this as part of his family’s income, he’s not just making fun money to spend on hunting and fishing. Anyway, last year he net over $16,000, so far this year he’s GROSSED $4,000.

I am the same...if you remember a lot of my income is from brushhogging and this summer it has been sparse but the next 2 days I am hooked up on it. In September is when that deal will really get busy! I am glad I only have to mow one of our properties now instead of 2...the cows are taking care of the other one for me…

They just took away our next chance for rain. Nothing in the next 10 days now. Planning to plant brassicas tomorrow, probably a futile effort. We’re up to 63 days with 1.2” of rain. The above map makes me wanna puke. Good for those south of us I guess though. It’s getting more difficult with every system that passes us by to be happy for everyone else; I’m still trying though.

Once again, NE Kansas getting dumped on out of the clear blue sky, while we get diddly down here.

Crazy weather this summer. We were supposed to get some rain early in the week…which never happed. Yesterday we had a 1% chance of precipitation and got .75”. If I’d known, I’d have gotten grain in the ground and urea spread on the brassicas. Weather gods must be having a good laugh….
 
It feels like we have the energy to make this happen outside, and we have a very slight chance for storms tonight. Is it gonna???

We got 5/100s at the farm. I’m hoping it wasn’t enough to germinate the brassicas, or they’re toast. No rain in the long term forecast now. Of course they’ve been wrong every single time when they said we had a chance for real rain, maybe they’ll be wrong when they say we have no chance. Droughts suck!

Yes drought sucks...I am going to plant our plots next week so get ready for the specific areas of NE Oklahoma drought...
 
Looks like big rain for OK and Northern TX. Maybe some will sneak up to us? It’s supposed to get within 50 miles…
