Whats your bow of choice?

I currently am shooting an Elite GT 500. I believe it is an 06 that I got in 07 for 200$. New in box. I could not pass it up. Anyways I really wasn't planning on hunting with it, I just wanted something to tinker with for sh-tz and giggles. Threw some basic accessories on her and started the tuning process. tuned in great! Shot her a bunch and discovered that I liked it so much that it would be my hunting partner that first year.
9 years later, and I see no reason to break up a good thing. It does the job and I definitely got my moneys worth out of her. I do like the way that the Mathews no-cams shoot, but cant see spending that kind of money on a bow.
What's your rig of choice?

Recurve - Hoyt Dorado with Tradtech limbs
Compound - Hoyt Maxxis 35

First Hoyt compound I have owned(have hade it 4 seasons) and I love it. Great speed, super quiet, and it's so soft at release, you hardly know you've released. No need for me to change for quite some time.

I doubt I will ever buy a new bow again. I got both used from online forums(did buy the limbs for the Dorado new) and saved a lot on basically new bows. I think my Maxxis retailed for ~$900 at the time. Bought mine for $400(used for 2 seasons, looked brand new). Go to archerytalk.com and search the classifieds.

I'm a self confessed Bowtech junkie presently shooting an Experience and Invasion. I shoot the newest Mathews and Hoyts every year and just can't seem to pull the trigger.

Elite Hunter, when I change bows if I ever do again it will very likely be another Elite.

I have tried and own lots of different set-ups for bowhunting. Whatever feels good to the shooter is what I would suggest. I have an elite e500,mathews legacy,hoyt carbon element,,mathews mr8,bowtech nitrous,golden eagle splitfire 1 and they all have been more than capable of doing the job. The more brace height you have the more forgiving it will be, but it does slow down a bit when you start taking inches or poundage away fron your draw cycle. I would rather be a little slower and accurate than really fast and not as confident in making the shot----shooting a bow is a lot easier when you can be outside in a t-shirt but practicing in real world hunting conditions will prepare you for trying to draw and anchor with extra clothing. Bow hunting is much more of an accomplishment to me,but sometimes gun hunting is the way the freezer gets filled. Lots of people are brand loyal and will advise you to shoot what they shoot----try a bunch and choose for yourself.jmho.

I have owned the Bowtech 2009 Admiral, Assassin, Insanity and RPM 360. I have handed down or sold all but my Admiral. I have yet to find a bow that I shoot as well as this one. I am debating on making a change this year to Elite or Hoyt. I bet I still hold onto my Admiral though.

I shoot an Elite z28. Although I almost went with the GT 500. Both are great bows. I've got a bad right shoulder and the smooth draw cycle is why I went with the Elite. Only bow I ever had that has a smoother draw cycle was my Oneida.
Also never had a bow feel so dead in the hand as the Elite. No vibration at all. Set at 55 lbs and I use 1 pin to 30 yards.
Anyone shoot a Prime bow? Their double cams are a pretty interesting design. No cam lean at all.

All great bows in ther own right. Anyon remember the xi legend magnum. I used the heck out of that bow. I Killed mor deer with that bow, than you could shake a stick at. i had a couple of bowtecs then a z28 befor settleing with the GT 500. I have to admitt, do i absolutely love the GT? Nope! But it gets the job done well enough for me. More than likely I will need a softer drawing bow sooner than I want cuz my bones are not the same anymore.

That's funny that I read your post because I've still got a GT500 as a backup. I've been shooting a Hoyt Carbon Element since 2012, I really thought hard about getting a new Carbon Defiant this year but talked myself out of it!

Diamond The Rock for past 5 years and just bought the Provider by Diamond, and that's after testing every other bow at Cabelas! Diamond/Bowtech are some of the smoothest ones out there !

Hoyt ProHunter that I ordered in 1991. I think I have gotten my money's worth! Anyway I have killed a few pickup loads of deer with it and hopefully will kill a few more.

Elite Z28 here. Love it. Whisker rest, HHA Single pin slider set at 25yds and let her fly.

I had GT500 for a few years. ......GREAT bow then, and still is!

I am shooting a Darton DS3800 now.......I really like this bow too, but dont think I shoot is as well as I did my Elite. It is a heck of a smooth bow for the performance it puts out!

I am shooting a Mathews Helim (let the hating begin) I won't ever not have a Mathews as atleast a backup bow, or main bow. I just shoot them very well. I did own a Prime Alloy, the bow was sweet too!

I hunt with a Mathews DXT. Still my favorite bow of all time. Not fast but light, small and super smooth. Since I shoot a little 3D, I've shot a lot of different bows owned by others (read not set up for me but close enough to feel the bow). Also have a slightly newer Mathews in the Z7 but its harsh compared to the DXT and only slightly faster. Elite would probably be my second choice of manufacturer at this point.

I bought a bowtech guardian new ready to shoot while deployed to iraq in 07. They hand a military deal for $500 case and all, it just had to be sent to an APO adress. I still have it and dont plan on getting rid of it

I am not brand loyal, but have owned more PSE's than any other brand. Currently have a Hoyt, Mathews, and 2 PSE's. I sold my Bowtech several years ago. I bought a 2015 PSE Full Throttle and right after I ordered it, I had the chance to shoot Bowtech's Eva Shockey bow. I would own that bow in a heart beat. One of the best bows I have ever shot. If you have a draw that is 28" or less, I will tell you to give it a test run. You may be more impressed than you are expecting.

What day of the week is it ? Black Widow recurve has won out over the other 20 or so stick bows for the past couple of seasons.

I shoot a Mathews Creed XS 50-60#. I got this bow 2 years ago because I had alot of pain and weakness in my left arm and had to drop my poundage. Before that I had the Mathews Outback for years and loved that bow. I use the HHA single pin adjustable sight and a QAD ultra rest and Rage 2 blade broadheads.
