Using old diesel

I’ve got 20-30 gallons of 10+ year old fuel. It’s stored in plastic jugs and has been in the shade. Any way to use it in a tractors/truck? I’ve heard it can grow algae so I’m assuming I’d need to filter it carefully. Thoughts?

Don't. Just don't. Not worth your truck or tractor. It's varnish now. Diesel degrades over time, no matter how well stored. Red fuel turns purple, clear fuel turns brown as it oxidizes. Use it for brush piles.

Put in gallon sprayer and use to start control brush pile burns or mix with remedy to spray brush

Sixty dollars worth of fuel. If you can rebuild your injectors for less than sixty dollars it's worth trying it.

Especially in plastic containers. They allow passage of gasses into and out of and are terrible storage containers. And as said not worth a rebuild.

Packed it away in advance of a big snow storm that threatened to shut down power for an extended period of time. Parked in the shed and forgot about it....;(

Damn the snow....except during hunting season. I love the increased visibility/sign, and how it moves deer off of acorns.

Ya, my memory is about gone too. The other day we were building a small project and I asked my carpenter friend to borrow his hammer because I couldn't find mine. He said "look down at your hand, what are you holding?"
So don't feel bad about losing a few gallons of fuel in a snowstorm.
