Looks good. I thought at first you were doing a soup commercial. Finally getting around to making some deer head stew.
My father-in-law wanted the cape, so it took a while to get the head back.

Yep, we do this instead of boiling in peroxide. It is much easier to control imo, so you don't have to worry about possibly having to stain the antler bases later.Tooth paste?
This blue haired lady asked me a lot of questions to make sure she was getting me the right product. As you can imagine she was quite shocked to learn I was using it to whiten a rotten bison skull I found...I use basic white and 40% peroxide mixed in a paste. You wouldn't want to do it indoors on the counter top! First time I bought it at the beauty supply store the lady had a lot of questions for the skinny bald guy!
That could be a dandy next year.We finally got a front view of the snow sled buck. I didn’t realize he had a frame quite like this. If he can add a tine or two and take a jump, he could be pretty interesting next year.

Your soil will be thankful for every dropThought I’d snap a picture this morning for posterity; this doesn’t happen around here much anymore. It really is beautiful outside.

Are you going to start burning sheds if you run out of hedge? The hedge has been going fast the last few weeks!

Those are some of the sheds that made the cut. Most are in boxes in the attic. In that pile are earlier sheds off some bucks we've shot, a couple that were just really unique, and some of the bigger ones that have come off the Massey. We haven't done the best job of labelling some, we need to get better at that. I have a buddy who tags nearly every shed he finds each year, and he finds a bunch! Of course, he's 44 years old and single without children...Are you going to start burning sheds if you run out of hedge?

Great idea, I never thought of marking the butts. We write the name of the finder, location, and date found right on the side of the antler with black marker, at our camp we celebrate the finder of a shed much the way same as an in season buck harvest, if it's a nice one there's much fanfare and the marked antler gets it place of honor on "the pile".I mark the butts of mine with date found
Just like Trump signing executive orders with his sharpie!!I mark the butts of mine with date found
