So he's not the one I was after but the mood just struck me. It was fairly early in evening and he actually looked bigger on the hoof, but the right side is broken up from fighting so he had some ground shrinkage. He would have been an 8.

Went back to deer I hit and some idiot had cut off his head. Lol. I'm sure he will mount it and say he killed it. Did make it back out after dealing with ins and getting rental. but no luck. Next wk I'm sitting on hood of truck while someone drives me down the road to shoot. More deer that way. Deer tearing up scrapes and rubs. Acorns heavy.

Rut is HOT here right now. Hope it isn't completely over by next Saturday when we start hunting. Had a visiting brute near my gate when I came by at 10 AM this morning, and cams showed daylight buck movement nearly every day. November 2 was flaming hot in the low ground food plot. Three or four new deer on cams this week, but all 3 year olds.

Wife had a mature shooter cruise by just out of range about 10 minutes ago.

I have only seen squirrels and a Tom turkey

3 does at daylight nothing since. Looks like 2 more days of East winds and then a little rain to break up the weather. Off for the next 12 days. Glad some are laying them down
