Live from the Stand - 2025

That’s what I’m talking about !

MM, that’s a great idea, but it only snows in Texas about once every 3/4 years………🤣
It's not for snow, it's for loading and cleanup. Two guys can load a deer with almost no effort, rather than the old "swing back, now up!" manuever.

French Settlement, LA
Cloudy, 53 degrees and falling with a howling north wind.
1970 Marlin 336 30-30 with old school 170 grain silver tips.

Last rifle doe day for area 9. Got a whole bottle of active scrape lure at the swamp edge. We shall see!IMG_4890.jpeg

Today is the season opener for PA special regulations areas, an area about a tenth of the state. I'm in the stand in Chester County 35 miles west of Philadelphia in 75 degree heat at 4:30 pm watching some acorn bearing oaks and 2 pear trees on my right, there's a standing cornfield a quarter mile away on my left on a neighboring property. A buzzard is helping me keep watch, he's expecting a big gutpile.
Hell yeah, looks like an awesome spot! Good luck!

Cold and windy with 4" of new snow that is drifting in 20 mph winds, here's a game cam pic from this morning, wish I was out hunting in French Settlement, LA! Good luck with your hunt.

Late season doe hunt over rye to fill that last little corner of the freezer. Freezing rain and the rye is rather icy, 50/50 chance I'll see nothing.
But im having fun, aren't I? Absolutely!
My Dewalt heated jacket is paying for itself right now and the 360 hunting blind has double windows, so i lift the iced over window and have a clean window to look out. 1 hour of shooting light left.
