2020 sheds

Good to see you again, John Paul.

Looks like majority of my bucks shed this past week. Trail cameras show lots of antlers last week and very few this week. There are a couple of stragglers still holding one side, but it’s time to get serious about shed hunting.

I sometimes get lost in the hustle and bustle of life but tend to head back here when things die down!!!

Whoa Nelly that's an awesome shed. Do you have history with the buck? Gotta be in the 90-100" shed range no?

Yeah. Hunted him hard in Dec. The one in my left hand is his left side from last year. Found it yesterday, too.

Wow that's a heck of a jump in one year. How old was he this past Fall?

I found a dead buck while shed hunting. He must have had an injury the year before to grow a rack like that.

Very promising. Would have been even better if I hadn't found this 4.5YO and 3.5YO dead early in the shed season. But it happens...

Nope. Very far from roads or possibly poaching activity. Just one of those years.

I am going to give it a go this weekend. Almost all bucks held both sides well into February. Most should be shed now. It’s tough hunting in the hills and hollers. I’ve never found any laying in a field.

I found an old one today while scouting for a possible new stand site. Not very much tine length, but good mass for southern buck.

My wife said she's going to go shed hunting for the first time, and 5 minutes later she found her first one. Should I tell her that was a very lucky first find, or l let her figure that out on her own?
She didn't just pick it up in the field either. It was in the woods.

She may have it figured out. My wife has a way of finding things that I can’t that turn out to be right in front of my face.

I spent the day with a chainsaw in my hand and some time on the tractor. Didn’t get a chance to look.

Picked up four yesterday spreading litter. Fortunately spotted them all didn’t find any with the tires.
