Took the boys fishing this morning on the way home...

Largest was 3 lbs 8 oz that Jaxon caught but Eli had a 3 lb 6 oz one...

Filleted and vacuum packed.

Almost forgot. Wife had me a sign built for our shop we are going to build next spring!

Okie...Great "non-habitat" related update! Our oldest grandson is now 13 and is transitioning from a boy to a little man. Voice is changing and he's growing like a weed. Also involved in lots of activities which means less time spent with Meme and Poppy. Those precious years of when they're younger and always wanting to be with you are just that...precious. They will never forget the time spent with you growing up.

Always enjoy catching up on your thread! And like you...not much going on at our place in terms of habitat. Put cameras out last weekend and will be down next weekend for the 1st time to check them.

I bet those couple of 3+ pounders were quite the fight for the boys. We just had rainbows on the grill last night. By far my favorite fish to catch and eat. My daughters both caught there limits and they both think they taste so much better when they caught them themselves.

Those boys are close and certainly fond of each other but that little one is so super competitive that he always has to win or there is heck to pay. Luckily he caught a slightly larger fish but he wanted a golden one badly.

When you have super low deer population and a little shower every once in awhile plots can certainly look good...lol

Eli fought his in by himself and I netted them but little Jaxon had to have a bunch of help with me helping with the rod but he did all the reeling. Eli netted when Jaxon had a fish on...

We haven't had any of the fish yet but looking forward to grilling it up!

Volunteer corn from just regular old whole corn for a feeder...must have been planted by squirrels...

My north plot I will never plant again...pretty good stand of clover and I will just let the plot run its course and go fallow...

This evening I sprayed our "Home 10" plots and also burned off the thick WR thatch that covered the ground in preparation for working it up for fall plots. Everything green that is left is clover...

I noticed a tire on my trailer wearing funny so I took a look and found my idler axle was bent...

I have some brushhogging to do this weekend for a forum member so I have to fix it quickly. Unfortunately replacement parts are about 50 miles from me and with my work schedule Saturday AM will be quickest I can make it over. Time to roll up my sleeves in 96 degree humidity...

Make sure you have a counterbalance on back of your tractor when lifting.

We had a good time for sure on our mini trip.

I feel like a slacker as of late. Too much work at work and not getting much done until weekends come and now the heat is on...finish fixing trailer tomorrow finally!
