A few foodie pics from my cooks at the farm this past weekend. Everybody left full and happy, happy, happy! I was solo Friday night so teed up a "reduced for quick sale" huge ribeye that worked out pretty good for me.

Just Brooks and I were down Saturday morning. Followed up my doe harvest with a plate of southern goodness...biscuits, Tennessee Pride Hot Sausage gravy and topped with a couple of fried eggs.

Saturday night the crew expanded so served up a heaping helping of white chili.

Looks great. What is your condiment of choice for crappie, and other fried fish? I mix tartar, cocktail and a little catsup

Do you have a special chili recipe?

Yes, a deeply guarded secret recipe called Wick Fowler’s:D The add ons are a can of Rotel tomatoes, onions of course, and Adkins steak seasoning on the ground venison when I brown it. I only put about half of the red pepper in it and I always put a looong squeeze of Heinz catsup in after it has been in the crockpot for an hour or so. I’ve tried it from scratch and a couple other mixes, but I can’t beat Wick’s.

Triple C special for dinner last nite. Had the extended crew over at the new place for dinner. Went to the well for a meal they’ve had many times.

chicken thighs on the Traeger, green beans, smashed baked taters, slaw, sliced maters n sour cream cornbread. Nobody left hungry!

Boys - Been making southern cornbread for all of my adult life. Nephew convinced me to try a new recipe about 2 years ago and holy cow!!! You gotta try it n so easy my 6 yr old grandson could make it. Here's the recipe.

1 C self rising cornmeal.
1 stick of butter - melted in a bowl.
1 8oz container of sour cream.
1 8oz can of cream corn.
2 large or 3 med eggs.
pickled diced jalapeno. I use a couple table spoons.
1 tsp sugar
Preheat oven to 350 with greased cast iron skillet in oven while preheating. (I use lard to grease skillet)
Combine all ingredients and mix thoroughly.
Pour in hot skillet and bake for 45 min until top is dark golden brown.

Post pics!
