Throw n Mow gly use question

Ive decided to try the Throw n Mow planting method this year on my plots. Ive always used an ATV disc which isnt the easiest process.

My question is, if I use gly to burn down my grasses/weeds, and the deer still come thru and try to eat something, wont that harm/poison them?

They are not going to eat it.

I have noticed over the years that deer will avoid RR soybean fields for at least 3 or 4 days after the farmer sprays them so I agree with Shawn Cox.

I swear that deer hit my plots harder immediately AFTER I spray. Usage definitely doesn't slow down after spraying on my place

Funny you say that as I just started a thread based on my observations of this. I have the exact same thing happen on our place. The deer hammer plots the hardest right after spraying.

I don't know what gly tastes like but my deer like it! Or maybe the plant nutrients and chemistry change shortly after spraying and they are more tasty. I don't know which it is but they sure like it. My hope is that it acts as a steroid I start seeing huge non-typicals. ;)

It's not happening with just Glyphosate. Seems like they hit the plots harder after I spray other herbicides as well.

For whatever reason it must taste better. Either the chemical has a taste (maybe salty) or the plants taste better when harmed.

Some herbicides just have a different odor. Like have you ever sprayed Cadet? It has a really sweet, sorta almond scent.

Thanks all for the input. So reading what you are all saying, even if they DO eat the plants that have been sprayed they should fare ok?

They aren't going to drop over dead, but I'd rather not see them eating stuff that's freshly sprayed with chemicals. Don't know if it's bad for them, but I don't think it's GOOD for them, either.
This time of the year when we are normally spraying, there are countless tons of natural forages out there for deer. My deer certainly aren't surviving on my plots. In fact, it's probably a tiny portion of what they eat. So they aren't getting "a lot" of herbicide in their diet.
Hey, if they aren't getting "poisoned" in big ag country where they eat a large diet of RR beans all summer, I doubt you have to worry about them eating herbicides on your plots.
