The guy who brought the tiller also brought a cone spreader...dad passed away and had this "Junk" laying around the back yard and they said he didn't even have a tractor. (My Buddy asked them when they brought it in). It is more common than you think for kids or relatives to toss really great stuff when someone dies because they don't know what it is or have any use for it...
A neighbor of mine near Home 10 bought a piece of property many years ago that had several old 30's to 50's model car bodies on it...around 50 cars total...They were there for many years and a neighbor of his had a dozer guy out rebuilding a pond and this guy go's over and asked him if he can pay him to push the car bodies off in a deep hollow and push dirt over them so he didn't have to look at them anymore. He did this when scrap was about $200 a ton just a few years ago. I would have hauled everyone of them off for free for him but didn't realize what he was doing until I got in from work and saw the aftermath...
Gun safe he got came from a storage unit rental place. The place said they had no way of opening it and so they hauled the whole units contents to the land fill. The landfill guys opened it with heavy equipment...
Cobra Manufacturing (bow sights, stabilizers, releases, etc...) went out of business a few years ago and they dumped their entire inventory at this landfill. All new still in the package. My releases and sights on our bows came from that deal.
When places like Lowes, Home Depot, etc.. get new inventory and new models come out and nobody buys the marked down older units they toss them new in the box. I don't know how many Electric heaters he has gotten and given to me. Also wet or dry vacs and even a new seat for my Polaris 4-wheeler...all from this landfill...
Guy is living the dream working at a dump...
