What happened?

...last night? I fell asleep in the recliner and woke up at 11:00 sweating in a 75 deg cabin.

...this morning? The herd moved on through before light. No doubt they had their bellies full of corn. Nothing else came past making it my worse sit of the season (so far).

Now I am heading back home. I have a busy weekend but hope to be in a stand again Monday afternoon.

I'm enjoying the live updates so far gents! I will be out Sat morning till about mid -day and possibly again 1 or 2 evenings after work next week. Looking forward to checking the camera I put out on a well used trail a couple weeks back.

I drove away from the house with 2 does in the backyard and a small buck was dogging a doe about 200 yards from our house right along the road...

I tell you, the last two evenings here have really had me itching to be in a tree. It's been cool and calm. You'd be able to hear em coming from so far away you'd probably have 1-2 minutes to get situated for a good shot. LOL.

I'm headed to the ranch with the man cub (grandson) to get ready for his first ever hunt in the AM, supposed to be nice tomorrow then warm up Sat & Sun.

Went after work this evening. Got out late and shouldn't have gone. Wind supposed be from NW as front moved thru.... it wasn't. Saw a deer going to stand and that's it. Slowww. Nice rub at base of tree. And a nice pile of bear shit against tree. Obviously one checking out my treestand. Acorns down and I need be back up on ridge but no time to get there. I hate hunting evening with full moon. Yea I know it makes no diff they say. Can't go next 2 wks, hope temps drop. I'm done till Halloween.

Always seems to me like less action on a full moon ...much rather hunt when it's not full.

Very slow start to bow season in Upstate New York this year. I've been out only twice due to warm weather and little activity. Have seen a few small does and a small four point that's it.

You should be commended! Kids in our area tend to rifle kill their deer from school somehow...or bed...

I enjoy it as much as he is..he asked if he could kill two deer when he found out we got a doe and buck tag. I told him I wanted him to save one so he could come out again later in the season.
