Live from the stand 2016!

Oh yea! Chasing! Had a doe follow my trail all the way to the tree at 9:30. When she turned to go away I was going to shoot but she never have me a great opportunity and I wasn't full comitted. A few minutes later I hear a crash in the same direction she went off in followed by some deep, gutteral grunts. Ran circles for a few but I can't hear them anymore.

Well, after that little bit of excitement earlier it has died down. So officially only one deer seen. Gonna stay put for a little longer and then move a camera to the new scrape site.

I'm heading back to the same spot this afternoon. I took this on my walk out. Notice the fresh urine spot? He freshened it up after I got in stand this morning. It was probably the buck I heard grunting as that's only 75 yards or so from where he was chasing the doe. He seems pretty pumped up!

I left my morning stand at about 11 but not before a little walk into my Borzak plot to grab a couple apples off the trees to eat. Empire and Freedom were bright red and perfectly ripe.

I noticed a scrape and a very large rub on the edge of the plot. I gave the scrape a spritz of buck urine and stashed my decoy until tomorrow morning.

When I got back to the cabin I jumped a doe that had bedded between the cabin and outhouse.

This afternoon I am in my very seldom used South Stand. Havent sat in this stand for 2 years. It used to be one of my hotspots before my neighbor (open field on the right end of my panarama) started letting his black lab run free. I witnessed it chasing deer off the field and partly into my property on 2 occasions. My neighbor behind me reported seeing the same. Not long after this routine started, this end of my property became mostly barren of deer.

Plenty of small rubs along with a network of trails now though, so maybe something changed.

Very windy again. It has me wondering about these seldom used straps on this seldom used ladder stand...

First ever bear encounter on stand! Awesome! It came trotting in so quick, couldn't even get video on the cell. Gopro attached to the bow might have gotten it.

Cut out from work at noon, set up a quick brush blind on the north side of the plot where I've had two encounters with a good buck. If he shows I should get a shot at him.

I just got in from setting up a new hang on stand on the north end of our north plot so it can be hunted with a south wind...forgot to take a pic :(
 
Good luck all. The wind is just starting to settle in eastern PA. Tonight should be our coldest night so far.

Same exact thing is happening this evening that happened yesterday evening when I was hunting here. Dogs running and 10 acre hunting camp guy must now be building a deer hut in the woods. I guess he cleared everything last night with chainsaw and tonight is building something there....hammer, hammer, hammer :(
 
SOB's were in my tower blind about 100 yds from me. I heard them getting in it
