Bermuda Triangle

Shot my first Tom this weekend. It definetly pumped up my excitement for Turkey hunting, but it still ranks much lower than whitetails, in my book. Working on a fan mount for the man cave

Nice bird. Nothing like hearing a gobbler thunder away in answer to your call. It'll get in your blood yet!

Just got my new rifle setup and shoots pretty good. Another .308 with a gold ring on top. Now I can retired the winchester m70, which doesnt withstand constantly getting wet while hunting. Picked up a bull barrel .22lr for the kids while I was at it.

These were some really good looking pictures from 2024, I liked how it looked. How's this timber stand improvement area coming along, is the regrowth starting to grow out? Probably needs a few more years to really look good?

Yes a lot of white oak regen. Planted some spruce and white pine pockets at strategic betting spots. Other than that native forbs/grasses have been slow to regen. Adjoining neighbors clear cut a few years prior to me and mine is a continuation of their habitat. From what there's looks like, I have no concerns on what it will be!

Regen on a timber stand improvement takes a few years to establish, probably only at 4-5 years that the brush is grown high enough that it will hide a deer in the winter when the leaves are down.
