Took some pictures of an oak/aspen area, where I cut all the aspen and let lay two winters ago. The under growth is coming in very well!

Exciting and stressful week. Got a call my logger is starting next week! Now trying to find a culvert in 2 days so the driveway can be put in. Nervous about the logging since I will be away camping for Memorial day

I know it looks terrible right after the cut but by next season you will be glad you did this. I would be looking to plant some desirable trees in the leftover tree tops.

New toy to aid in the habitat work. It was a tough call between this and a tractor, but since I dont have much open space for plots, hilly terrain, limited storage, and have to haul back and fourth 50 miles; the atv was the final choice. Now looking for a disc, sprayer, pull behind mower. Any recommendations or implements to stay away from are welcomed!

Things are greening up nice after logging at the beginning of June. Seeing 4' aspen suckers and lots of deer. Yesterday I spread a bunch of bur oak acorns, hoping squirrels will plant them for me. I direct seeded a bunch as well, but that gets old, fast (start to question my sanity)!

Planted clover/chicory at the beginning of August and overseeded yesterday with winter rye, around my apple trees. Trying to avoid multiple spraying a year to control native vegetation around the trees, more so that a food plot

The powerline maintenance crew mowed their easement, so I took advantage and put down deer creek seed autum buffet mix. This is doin well, spite the lack of rain.

This is a low lying damp area with white pine, that was overtaken with cottonwood and box elder. I cut everything but the white pine and it has filled in nicely with native regen / flowers. Tons of bees and butterflies. This also helped dry up the wet soil.

Swamp bur oaks are doing great in year 3, even with my lack of spraying this year.
