Cool story brah.
My honesty can be off putting to some.AS I stated, I did not join looking for my next best internet friend but instead to talk about hunting. In the internet world of forums some make the mistake of thinking that they need to go to war with an make an enemy out of anybody that disagrees with them and thats a shame. Im a bowhunter first and foremost. AS a traveling bowhunter I get to see all sorts of state regs. and ways people hunt. I support them all. I think that is being lost here and that some folks think Im anti crossbow when that is not the case.
If there is a set decorum we are to follow and things were are supposed to say and others we are to avoid and things we are mandated to agree upon, I need that info up front.
"There are none so blind as those that refuse to see".Only According to YOU.
So for YOU that is a True Statement. For OTHERS it is far from true. But if keeping that thought in your head allows you to sleep better at night, then go for it.
That is state dependent. Bowhunting is alive and well in Oregon and other state like WI because member driven bowhunting orgs preserve, promote and protect the sport of bowhunting."There are none so blind as those that refuse to see".
I cant believe guys can look at the current state of "gear" and not realize that the days of bow season is gone.
Yes, in most states I can hunt with my recurve regardless of the season, but its no longer BOW SEASON when pretty much any weapon is legal. Thats what we deal with in PA.
Whether weapon expansion is good for hunting, or youth opportunity, or the elderly ( Im 62 with arthritis) or the disabled,
Is another discussion. But the fact that weapons like cross bows, airbows (AND YOU KNOW THE NEXT INVENTION IS COMING), in addition to firearms being included in "bow seasons"...you are gonna tell me that its just my "opinion" that bow season is "dead"???? Give me a beak.
You prove my point. For those that want to see the video, here it is.

Its sad that its become the organizations responsiblilty to defend the season. But the state wants dollars. The very existence of game depts isn't to serve us. In their minds, their job to secure their bureaucracies.Yes some states allow non-bowhunting weapons like shoulder discharged, stored energy weapons with a stock, trigger guard and safety which can be shot from a rest or rail to be use within their bowhunting season because their state bowhunting org was too small and weak to protect bowhunting.
