I haven’t figured out why coyotes don’t kill more armadillos. They obviously like them, when I’ve shot them, they don’t last long. Is their hide really that tough?I agree. Looks like vetch.
I despise armadillos - I would happily kill every single one of them.

Sounds like a good additive to a tree hole.Even our buzzards can’t fully clean a dead armadillo. Nasty little creatures. My friend hit 3 with a bush hog not too long ago and even that couldn’t break through the shell!
No thank you!!I’ll give you some wild hogs, they’ll eat ‘em

The neighbor to the south found a nice buck along the creek the middle of September last year. We saw him deer watching from the barn last summer and got a few grainy pics of him I posted a while back on here.Usually if a deer dies from EHD they die right about the time they shed velvet and are close to some form of water.Hopefully you don't have much loss if thats what it was
I have killed twelve hogs on my place in the last three weeks.Armadillos or hogs, or both?
As a good buddy tells me about yotes, kill them all!!I have killed twelve hogs on my place in the last three weeks.
It is odd how things differ around the country. We could shoot a deer one afternoon, and by next afternoon, the bones would be scattered far and wide - yet the skeleton of the deer you found is largely intact - and we perceive KS to have a ton of coyotes. Coyotes often have eaten part of the ham if it takes us an hour to recover a deer.Sprayed some clethodim on part of the lower barn plot Saturday. Took a short walk by the creek and covered a small area we hadn’t walked as of yet and found this dead head. The horns were polished some, so I don’t think he died in early fall. After some signs locally of EHD last fall, that’s where my mind goes first, but who knows? Never got this buck on camera, his right brow leaned out quite a bit, so he would be pretty easy to identify.
