The G3 Ranch Thread

Looks great. Wish I had some time to trap. Had shots at 2 bobcats this year, neither ended up in my cubicle, and heard about 4 more in the immediate area.
Thanks,

Trapping is a bit of a time commitment. Thankfully I have a friend who helps out checking traps. Nice to not have to do it myself every day. I've seen a few cats on my place as well, son took one with s bow last Dec.

Making progress on the fence and entrance. Still have to saddle the uprights and place the top pipe, hang Gates paint etc.

Also got a start on another pond, this one is in the hay field, we'll be fencing it in for a few cattle so it needed water.

Sorry to read of the passing of your mom. 84 seemed so old a few years ago. Turning 62 this year, it no longer seems that old. Everyday's a gift so hope to make the most out of all in front of me. Your place looks fantastic! Can't wait to see the finished entrance.

Thanks TC, I thought she'd make it a few more years. I'll be 60 this year. It's been so wet the last week or so things have been stand still.

Managed to get all the clay out of the hay meadow before the rains hit. Didn't have time to get all the top soil out though, still 25 10 wheeler loads to go. Pond is already 80% full, gonna be summer before it'll be dry enough to haul the top soil, dress and reseed the grass.

Started drilling soybeans last Fri, only got one 4 ac plot in. Tractor was giving me fits. Still need to terminate the rye, it's 4-5' tall & heading out.

The McCormick will be headed to auction soon, replaced with a Kubota.

Took off work yesterday planning on drilling the rest of the beans. I got a 5 acre plot in and it started raining, rained for a couple hours. Ended up with right at an inch, gonna try to get the last 6 acres drilled and all the rye sprayed tomorrow. Checked the plot I planted last Fri, beans are starting to show.

Used my "new to me" tractor for the first time yesterday, it's an older Kubota m108x with 1800 hrs. Worked as expected, at least there's dealer support everywhere if I have a problem with it. Had to haul the McCormick 50 miles to the nearest dealer and order everything.

Nice orange beast you got there friend. Did you finish your entrance gate? It was looking good.

Thanks, hopefully the Kubota won't hurt my feelings like the McCormick.

My son fired the goofy welders before they finished so the gate is delayed until June.

Drilled the last of the beans and got the rye/ clover sprayed Fri. Got another 1/2 inch of rain over the weekend. Managed to get some clean-up done around the house. Things were going good until the CV on my Bush hog took a dump, wasn't needing anything more to work on.

First time I planted wheat, don't have any experience but it looks good to me. Didn't ask for anything specific but no doubt an awnless variety.
