The Farm - Madison County, GA

I love hogs---as long as they're on someone else's place. Right now, best I can tell, it is a loner boar roaming around that found my feeder. Got plans to eliminate him ASAP. I think the Governor is letting them come off his place. Too busy at the Capitol to keep them thumped down. At least that's what I'm accusing him off by text. LOL

He’s gonna get a lot blamed on him! I was scheduled to come to the field day they held on his farm but work got in the way.

The life of elected service---all the blame, NONE of the credit. Unless you are a woman or other recognized "minority".

My 20-year-old son has found a new interest in going with me to the farm to work. Not sure if he's worried about his dad or if he really likes to actually do something. Regardless, I'm all for it. Got him on the tractor doing some plowing this morning.

All looks good. We are near a river full of pigs but only get one or two on our lease every year....never in the daylight to take them out though.

I started out 2 condos 10 years ago at 16' but as I was assembling the legs into the elevators, I cut 4' off of them! So glad I did as 12' is plenty tall enough for me....especially 10 years later.

Don't ask questions....just take advantage and hope he takes a liking to it. You may find, he may find, something that was missing!

You never know, could be both, but good either way. I grew up hunting and fishing because of my dad, but lost interest in it once I got in my late teenage years. In my early 30s, I started going back out to help him around the land and on deer stands/food plots, out of concern for him and just wanting to spend time with him. It ended up rekindling my love for the land and I soon after bought my own property that I could manage. We’re a number of years past that now, and I’ve become a bigger habitat nut than he is. It’s become our shared hobby and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

So, yeah, take advantage of it. Could be that he’s trying to scratch an itch he has for it, or could be out of concern for you, but either way, it’s a good thing. Who knows, he may end up getting into it way more than you.

I sure hope so. Been a dream since the day I cut his umbilical cord. His older sister LOVES the woods and hunting but work keeps her from joining me as much as I would like. She is a stone-cold, calculating killer though. LOL
