The Brushpile

Pretty sure the first thread I ever read when I joined the now defunct forum in 2013 was the Brushpile. The memory of dealing with what seemed to be a never-ending drought is what I remember most. Then came the tracking dogs. One of the patriarchs on this forum! Keep getting it done Brad!

Tons of rain has made it difficult to get anything done. I planted my first trees in 2008, and now they need thinning. I hope to post lots of picks soon. Wayne will also be paying a visit soon. I have his puppy. ;-)

Looking forward to some pictures from the Brushpile! How are things going there?
There is a ton of work to be done, Lumite to be lifted, cages to remove, and trees to be cut. Food plots need lime and fertilizer, and all of this is done by hand or with hand tools.

Here is a row of Elderberry. I thinned the row and didn't treat the stumps, so that they will sprout from the stump. The row of pines planted behind them were dropped to allow in more Sun.

This is an alfalfa plot screened by cedar and pines. There are 12-15 pear trees around and down the middle of this plot.

What an incredible tour! Thank you so much for sharing. You’re not that far from us I don’t believe. Maybe we’ll call on one of your wonder dogs sometime.

I hope so, and would be happy to meet you and help recover your deer.
