I like the variety that you guys display. My bucket list handgun is an 1911 marked US Army. Preferably dated pre WW1. Any of you guys into that type of thing?

View attachment 16207 I don't have pics of all of mine, but here is all except one of my single action Rugers.
From top to bottom:
Old Model Super Blackhawk .44 magnum
New Model Bisley SBH in .44 magnum
New Model Bisley Blackhawk in .45 Colt
New Model Single Six in .22 long rifle and .22 magnum (extra cylinder)
New Model Lipsey's Exclusive Blackhawk Flattop in .44 special
Not shown is my Ruger Wrangler in .22 long rifle, I just bought it about a month ago.
Three Taurus Trackers, a .22 mag, a .41 mag, and a .44 mag

Now, autos ?:) Five Glocks, two S&W M&Ps, an S&W Shield (my carry gun), and a Browning Buckmark .22 long rifle, but who's counting ?:D Hey, I'm not a complete handgun nut, I have a couple deer rifles, and a couple shotguns too !

Then there are the ARs...........
Nice pictures. I have a super redhawk and a single six myself, very accurate guns. I have preconceived opinions about Texas and you, sir, have not let me down.

This brings back a lot of memories. In about 1962, I was about 14 and worked every once in a while for an old guy that did roofing on the side. We were doing a roof for an older lady the week of Thanksgiving. While we were sitting taking a lunch break she came out with some coffee and asked what we were doing for Thanksgiving. I told her I was getting ready to leave for the mountains because deer season in PA always opened on Monday after Thanksgiving. She asked if I knew anything about guns. I told her I knew a little. She went in the house and brought out a box. It contained a 1911 in a holster. Her husband had been an officer during WWI and this was his service weapon. It was marked U.S. Army on the slide and was in immaculate condition. I explained that it would be worth a good bit to a collector. She said she just wanted it out of the house. She was terrified by guns. She gave it to me for nothing. I toyed around with it for a couple years. I couldn't hit a barn door with it and it felt awkward to my hand. I mentioned it to a fellow that collected firearms from the Civil War and he had a fit over it. He offered me $1200 dollars on the spot. I took the money and went down the next day and bought a 1966 GTO for $1800 dollars. Best deal of my life.

This is my carry buddy out at the land. It's a Springfield Armory 1911 worked over by the smiths at Gunsite. It came to me with most of the wear it had on it but I'm sure I've added a little more as well. It had some grip tape on it, but the adhesive melted in the heat.

Picked up my first Glock last weekend

First day on the range I had 7 out of 10 on a paper plate at 50y. Once I get used to the trigger I think it will be a shooter. Vortex reflex sight on order.

You’ll enjoy that, I have one myself. Mine has a Leupold Delta Point on it. Pretty good hog thumper and lots of fun to shoot.

Here is a Walther PPQ M2 in 9mm. Boy does this thing have a sweet trigger. I made the mistake of shooting one of my friends and had to have one.

Did your friend die? Sorry B H .... I simply could not resist! :D

Sorry for being redundant folks; I missed letemgrow's post above. I'll try to be more attentive.

My latest acquisition is a Ruger Bisley Super Blackhawk in .44 Remington Magnum. I bought this one a few months ago and just got around to shooting it last Sunday afternoon. I shot it from a bench on sandbags at 100 yards just to see if I could still hit the broad side of a barn and to get an idea if it was anywhere close to being sighted in. It was and it was gratifying to see that I can still scare something at that range. When I was a young guy, I was dangerous out that far, but the eyes and stability ain’t what they used to be. I’ll probably scope this one with a 2X pistol scope and I fully intend to take some hogs and maybe a deer with it this fall. 93AC1545-1569-4548-87E6-DC5B6B5654AC.jpeg
