So for the choke cable I made my own clip

It slides in thru the ashtray

Then the clip is secured thru the screw that holds the tray

Nice and tight now

Then it was steering wheel time. It was in sad shape but I need to spend on better parts than a new wheel right now

I tried the epoxy thing in the bigger cracks but I'm too impatient to wait that long for it to dry so I used bondo glass

It worked real good. After sanding that smooth I primed it and saw all the spots I missed. I spread finishing glaze on it with my finger and sanded that nice and smooth

Got some parts and PC's blasted and painted today

Needed a change of pace so I started playing with the interior making the door panels

So this motor started smoking like a freight train. Did a compression test and found one cylinder without compression.
After several hrs of getting the head off, breaking half the head bolts. Found 2 pistons with holes in them. How this ran so good is a mystery. So based on the broken bolts and pistons I'm putting the money into the rebuild of the original motor. Big setback

Holes are on the edge of the pistons, dimples in centers belong there

Been contemplating long and hard doing a V6 conversion but in the end I need to keep this old girl together, she's a survivor.

So this is what I found, ugh.

So I decided to use the other block and head I had, soaked it In toilet bowl cleaner over night to get the rust out. Used a wire brush too. Got it all cleaned and painted today, tomorrow I'm going to address the pitted areas around the valves then lap the valves

Well I started digging into the bed and found this. At this point I'm heading up to get some sheets of steel and making new sides. It will take me less time to replace than to deal with this mess...by the way. I hate rust

Picked up up this heater out of a 56 wagon. I took it apart and blasted the parts then painted with some dauntless green I had left over. Now I have to find a 12 volt fan

I got all the pcs of the heater cleaned up and painted. Also got a new 12 volt motor for it

After pressure testing the core I replaced the rusted metal tubes with brass ones

I knocked out the cover plate for the defroster vent. I found a fitting from a dust collector that fit the hole perfectly, some work on the band saw got it to fit nice and snug

Everything going back together

I hooked up a battery charger to it and it works like new, now, having said that there is no way in hell this is going to warm up the truck in the winter enough for my wife to get in it lol we'll see. But it does look cool

Needed one of those heater hose holder things so I just made one, need to spot weld and paint

Got the heater installed today

My choice for interior, seat color on top rest on bottom all ordered so I can't change my mind
