Spring has arrived. Native plums are flowering. We had a short freeze last week. Low was 28 degrees for a few hours. It doesn’t to appear to have hurt the flowers.

My orient and keiffer pears are in full bloom. These were planted 2012 and have not fruited yet. The last 2 years a late freeze killed all the buds. Hopefully I will have pears this year.

Moonglow’s havent flowered yet. I don’t know if I am going to have a companion pear to pollinate the moonglows??

Turkey season starts today but I had To work. Mollyann and I will be heading out in the morning. I mowed my old fescue field last week to open it up and may scatter a bunch of seeds. Hoping the turkeys will stay close.

Turkey season and the bass spawn always arrive at the same time. Went out Wednesday to see if I could catch a big egg filled bass. Water temps are still a little cold, mid 50’s, but the big sows are starting to move up

They aren’t doing much over here yet. Never heard a gobble last night and camera on the plot shows them in the plot a couple of days a week... sat on the porch this morning and never heard a gobble. Been a cold spring and trees are just starting to leaf a little bit...
