W33...The locking jaw is basically a big set of serrated curved scissors on the back of the stand with steel cables that run thru pre-set slots down to the back of the stand about the 3rd rung up from bottom. You simply open the jaws, place against the tree, pull the cables down and attach to a ratchet strap that is provide and ratchet the jaws until they are solidly locked on the tree. Same system at bottom of stand. Instead of a single stabilizer bar, it has the same jaw system to stabilize the ladder to the tree. Very cool design and very easy to install. We broke the bank and bought a cb lever ladderstand out of North Augusta. Thicker tubing and the chain and lever apparatus make it a must for me. My wife wanted me out of my climber and ponied up some serious bucks for this ladder stand.
We arent stand installing pros but we moved this thing twice already under five minutes both times.
Yellowdog and triple c....those x stands have caught my here of late. Can you elaborate on the lock jaw system...what it does and how it works?
I have switched to Hawk 22' ladder stands. Great bow or gun stands and the most comfortable stand I have ever sat.
