They can move a foot in a heartbeat. One year I killed two does out of the same 10’ tripod that was put together in a mesquite tree. The trees aren’t very tall in that part of the Northern Hill Country of Texas ! I shot both of those does at about 12’/13’ yards about two weeks apart. They were standing in basically the same spot. They both ran the same direction and died between 20 to 30 yards of the other. I just knew my arrow had entered right behind the shoulder and exited in front of the other shoulder. Perfect heart/lung shots. In reality, both were hit in front of the left hip, through the liver and one lung. Both died in sight and both were easily recovered but the shot was off by 15”/18” from the aiming point. Neither doe suspected I was anywhere near. I was well hidden and the wind was with me. A good lesson in how fast things can go to hell in a millisecond ! I don’t mind if I can see them fall, but to lose one hurts me…
