I'm currently planting oaks and shrubs into a strip of white clover, and come spring will be planting a row of spruce and pines parallel to this row of hardwoods. Is there a preferred herbicide to keep this row weed free for a longer period? I will be doing this via backpack sprayer, so drift should be minimal. How wide should I spray? Is this something I want to get done before cold weather arrives?
