As an aging old triathlete its hard to get me in anything but tennis shoes. I'd go barefoot if I could. I consider it a good day when I don't have to drive on pavement or wear shoes.Doing all the good Rusty ! I ain't too sure about those tennis shoes though....
He's a cool deer. I only saw him once last yr in velvet running out of a vetch field. Other than that he was never seen. I'll be looking a lot harder for him this coming season as he is moving into the danger zone age wise.Interesting sheds in that pile Rusty, but losing that 180 had to hurt. I was super impressed with that one shed with the palmation. Wow, to see him on the hoof !

Down here toward the red stick, I haven’t found a place that carries it, and the first person I talk to at the store has usually never heard of it.
Do you worry about the sunflowers not quite being fully mature in time to prep for opening of dove season? Aint that the truth. I just got back from a week in the northeast hoping to plant tomorrow and we got 1 1/2" this morning. Will be next week before planting starts. OK on timing so far. ...Just need a couple more three inch rains and I'll be waiting until June......
I generally plant sunflower the first week of May or so. Should be ready mid August. But I also plant millet, buckwheat and sorghum with the sunflower which mature earlier. If you have doves around I think you can plant into mid May and be ok if there is something else keeping them in the area.
