Farm and Ranch life

Amazing bucks. How would you describe your "social media boundaries"? I am trying to quit but may need some AA meetings

LOL, Watched a video the other night called " The social Dilemma ". Decided I was going to significantly narrow down my use of social media. I have a thread on another site called " Texas Bowhunter" where I describe in detail all I do both farm and ranch. Have over 500,000 hits on it.I let that expand to posting on several sites. Why? Probably hubris. So I've committed to use social media to learn and restrict idle chatter.

As I post idle chatter:)

Awesome bucks as always. Have you fully recovered from the hurricane damage? The Social Dilemma scared me. I deleted Facebook the next day and haven't looked back. I love it. :)

I despise social media. I think it brings out the worst in people, and I have no desire to broadcast my life to people I don’t know.

However, I don’t consider a site like this to be social media. I may be wrong, but here and other forums are about teaching, sharing, and learning — not bragging.

Always love your posts, Rusty, and glad to see you back even in a limited capacity. Happy new year.

Using cows to terminate fall food plot for spring planting

Great video Baker! You have any idea how much gain you may be getting per day on your cattle? And forgive me if I've asked you before, but do you have end markets planned out for the cattle and goats? I wish I lived closer, I'd be the first in line to buy beef from ya.

Thanks, appreciate your comments. We haven't tried measuring weight gain yet as we have grazed the cows both in the fields as well as in the woods. We got the cows in Feb. and everything for them since arrival has been transitory. And I'm brand new to the cattle business but I have a bright young turk in charge who watches everything very closely.

We worked on a website today. One aspect of the end game is to have a full blown business based on regenerative practices. Multi enterprise stacking, both animals and market gardens. Web site sales. So you will have your chance...:)

Why not spread your seed first and let the herd trample plant your seed for you saving cost and time of equipment and fuel? Good read thanks.

Very cool. I wish I could have borrowed your cattle and goats today. I bushogged 4.5 acres of oats and clover to get ready for a benne dove field. It seemed like such a waste.

I'm going to throw out the first bet; the steers average 1.8lbs per day without cubes. Sell this fall at 775lds ave.

Short scouting video as we all start turning our attention to the upcoming season
What kind of temps do you normally get to hunt in? We get grumpy up here if there are any bugs at all, and as of Sunday, I was still swatting mosquitoes in central MN. I've got my fingers crossed they've finally been zapped in northern MN by this weekend.
