Hello i have a 270 win and want to know what factory ammo has the best stopping power - been useing winchester xp does damage but not deep enough been reading that federal fusion works great any help thanks

Federal fusion is great deer ammo. If you’re interested in the deepest penetration, get a box of Barnes TSX and see if your rifle likes it.

i shoot the barnes in my 22-250 and couldnt ask for anything better

So the XP ammo isn’t killing them?

yes its killing them but they are running off with no blood trail and i have hit them behind shoulder and high shoulder- i hunt in steep woods and my knees and hips are in bad shape and cant drag them very far i warched a vedio on the federal fusion and they open up and penetrate deep - the xp is blowing up when it hits

Federal Powershok Jacketed Soft Point in the blue box is reasonably priced, accurate, and a very balanced load. Not too hard, not too soft, it will give you the blood trails you are looking for.

Federal Fusion bullets are great, but shooting deer in the high shoulder is better ! I can’t physically drag a deer very far anymore either, bad knees and little stamina. Shoot them in the high shoulder and watch them fall. Shoot the red dot !
