Intersesting, the covert code black was the worst cameras I ever run, by far.

The Tactacam has plans as cheap as $5/mo. When you add multiples, they get cheaper. Also, a good feature is if you have 10 cams and you are on the 250 pics for $5 you get 2500 pics. If one cam uses more than 250, and another is less by the same amount you don't go over. You more or less have a pool of 2500 pics for the cams to all use. I go with the $8/mo plan, 500/cam. Additional cams are $7.50 after the first one.

I thought they would be limited use on my farms due to cell coverage. They have a powerful antenna or something, they work in places with near perfect signal where my phone won't do anything.

I agree, the Cudde isn't a bad system. If I lived on the farm and I could constantly tweak them I could have done better. They like being hung low, which is another problem on a farm that is flood prone.

Cuddebacks do like low. And I have been out at midnight wearing waders while picking up my cameras as the water was rising. But, I would have probably been doing that with any camera. I still use a few cell cams for hog hunting where I need instant pictures. I also still use quite a few standard cameras where I have no cell service and cant link a cuddelink camera without using extra cameras to daisy chain. My favorite are the cuddelink because of their versatility - but no doubt, they have their shortcomings. For me, it is not just how well the camera works now, but how well it works three years from now. If the cuddelink prove to have some longevity, I will probably end up investing a lot more in that system

Here's a couple from the Spypoint this morning. While not the best quality, they do give me the info I need and I can pull the full res pics later if I want them. Not bad for a $100 cell cam with free 100 pics/month. I've had it running 24/7 for over 2 years now.

Never ran one before since we don’t have service back in the mountains. Today I ordered the new tactacma since I’m headed out to Kansas in November for the first time. I’m looking forward to giving it a try, I’ve heard great things about them.

Have honestly never had a issue out of all of my Coverts. They have just worked for me. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out with this new company or whatever that appears to have bought them as if you go to their website now it redirects you a different company that sells more than just trail cams. That could be a good thing or a bad thing.

Ive wanted to try a Tactacam but had issues finding one in stock when I was seriously looking for one and refused to pay $100 over retail eBay prices.

found it interesting when i was looking at reviews of the tactacam reveal x on various retail websites that the same "reviews" came up on just about all of them. my guess is tactacam is padding their reviews across these retailers to make it look like bunch of 5 stars. or just coincidence that the same people bought the same cameras on the same day from different retailers sportsman warehouse, scheels, cabelas, bass pro

I have a friend that bought 20 tactacams from several different retailers at the same time, so the coincidence that you are pointing would be possible, and though we all know that big companies often monitor their reviews and pad them if possible, I'm not sure that tactacam would need to pad their reviews. I don't have any myself, but everyone that runs them speaks very highly of them.

i purchased 3 of the Moultri Delta cams for $75 each. So far i like them and have been pretty good even with the spotty service on my place. Only downside to them to me right now is that the detection delay is 0,15 and 30 seconds or 5 minutes. Wish they had a minute option.

One of my 3 tactacams is headed back in for repair today. They've been responsive so hoping to get it resolved and back in work. Won't take night time pics for me.

Just a followup. Tactacam repaired the camera in a day and shipped it right back out. Working fine now. I would still recommend them.

Ended up buying 2 tactacams reveal xs....both having same issue where the only way i can make changes to camera settings is when i'm next to the camera, as the app won't update the cameras for me like it should. Takes great pictures and i get much better cell service than i thought, but only thing has been the app to camera communication...after 1 month i'm still showing 100% battery, so got feeling all sudden one day its just going to die with no real warning.

I downloaded a free app called "Network Cell Info Lite" that shows signal strength at any given place, and a map of where the towers are that you are currently using. It's very accurate and quickly shows what location has the best signal, right down to the closest foot.

If you're using Lithium batteries then that is why it's showing 100% all the time. One of the reasons I don't use them in my cell cams anymore is they will show 100% until they show 0%.

High quality alkaline batteries are the way to go IME.

Gotta say I'm underwhelmed so far with the Moultrie Delta. It seems like they're still working on service and updating the cam. Signal strength is reporting 30%ish, but it still doesn't check in every interval it's set to. I have it set to video + Photo, but I'm only getting videos currently, so I switched it back to photos only. I don't love have to manually request the full resolution photo every time. Also, the lens seems to be pretty susceptible to the am dew. I have a lot of glared photos and videos. Detection range is less than my Bushnell Dual Sensor cams.
