Bowhunter's upstate New York property tour

I have one more food plot that I wanted to put in before it's too late. I wanted to have it in before now, but between having a one month old son, and a serious lack of rain, I haven't managed to make it happen. I did although get a free minute this afternoon to get the plot disced and ready for rock-picking, and then planting depending on if we get any rain or not.

It's not a large plot by any means. roughly 50' x 40'. I plan on putting in the LC mix.

I can sympathize with the lack of rain. We get our fair share of prolonged dry weather on Oklahoma. I did my fall plots yesterday in hopes of rain later this week. However, I don't have to spend time picking rocks after discing.

Enjoying the tour
Todd

I did end up getting my last plot in this evening with hopes of some rain later tonight. It's been difficult this fall getting everything done around my place having a one month old son to take care of now as well.

Here is the plot that I put in last night. I was worried with how rocky it was, but after I rolled it in it looks pretty good.

This is the first time that I've planted this spot so we'll see how it does. I'll be putting a stand in the white pine pictured in the top left of the photo. Should be perfect for a west wind which this spot primarily gets in the fall.

The plot that I put in on 8/22 is doing quite well now.

You can see the radishes are coming up good, and everything should be popping up with the rain we got last night and tonight.

One of the bucks that is on my hit list so far this year. This is in my turnip plot that is seeing quite a bit of action.

My other LC mix food plot is doing pretty well. I've got a ton of deer action so far.

My stepfather got this picture on his game camera just yesterday of a mother bear with five cubs. I don't think I've ever seen this many cubs from one litter before. Two years ago I saw a mother with four cubs one the first day of archery season and thought that was rare.

Do you think they are all hers?Thats cool but I am glad I don't have them.I thought coons were a pain
Yes, they are all her's. I had saw them earlier in the year when she crossed the road in front of me and the five cubs followed.

I agree, they are a pain. Last year I had a small two year old bear decimate my corn in one night.

Wow, five cubs that is amazing.

My most recent food plot that I planted on September 9th is doing pretty well considering our lack of rain that we've gotten lately.

My other LC mix plot is doing well even with getting some pretty heavy traffic from a bunch of does. It didn't really come in that well in some areas, but where it did, it came in real good.
