What are your plans for the stumps? Taken a soil sample yet? Our woods converted plots had ph in the 4s. We’ve had to spread a ridiculous amount of lime the last four years.... Hope you are in better shape.
The set of discs have been very good for us. When we first got them we had an old Alis Chalmers WD that would barely pull them when in deep soil. Now that we have the John Deere 2510 its not an issue at all. Would like to add some weight to the disc though as I feel it would greatly benefit when the soil is harder in the late summer.wish I could find that set of discs near me - great job on the layout.
Yes they were. I heard two other birds gobbling down over the hill from me about 500 yards away or so.Well done. Were they still responding to a call? Birds on our place went quiet a week ago. I believe the hens are already on the nests.
I'm not sure why, but very consistently our PA birds go quiet during the middle of May, but by the last day (yesterday) they are often gobbling again.Well done. Were they still responding to a call? Birds on our place went quiet a week ago. I believe the hens are already on the nests.
No doubt.Nice job. I always wait until late in the season. Most people are long burnt out by then and I’ve found I have things mostly to myself. Lots of green cover too. And it’s not freezing. Lol. Turkey lose weight during breeding phase just like a buck does in the rut. That turkey would probably be well over 20 pounds in April.
Nice video. Were you waiting until he turns away to draw? Here is the video from my hunt yesterday.
No, I drew back when he was in front of the decoy and turned back to the right. I was holding for probably 30 seconds or so is all before releasing the arrow.Nice video. Were you waiting until he turns away to draw?
Yes it is quite shady but the power line runs east to west so it should get a decent amount of sunlight.nice looking spot - looks shady - you thinking cereal grain/clover?
